Course Description

EMV, PCI, True Cost…It used to be that “cash is king” but with more and more customers preferring to charge, there are more and more complications for vendors. We have all heard that accepting credit cards is a great way to increase cash flow, but with charge rates, security concerns, and acronyms like EMV and PCI, there is a lot to learn and understand. During this session with several Intuit Managers, you will learn how to navigate thru the options, understand the recent changes, and we will address 5 of the tough questions Accountants must understand for themselves as well as their clients.

1. Rates – How do you negotiate the best rates?
2. EMV – What does it mean to you and your clients?
3. PCI Compliance – What do you and your clients need to know and do?
4. Payment Types – What is the difference?
5. True Costs – What else can you do to improve efficiency and reduce time and aggravation associated with accepting credit cards?

Learning Objectives

  • Identify how you can ensure you and your clients are getting the lowest rates

  • Recognize when EMV changes apply to you and your clients

  • Determine what additional safeguards you should have in place when accepting credit cards

  • Analyze the differences between debit card, credit cards, and ACH transactions

  • Explore how accepting credit cards can improve cash flow, increase efficiency, and more
